Your pet will be welcomed in your apartment with a water bowl and doggie treats and the promise of some exhilarating walks along North and South Bay. For those times when you want to go out without your pooch we have a dog sitting service so that your dog has company and does not get upset in a different environment.
There are restricted areas on the beach during the summer (1st May to 30th September) but you will find plenty of space for them to roam on North Bay or further afield at Cayton where they are allowed on the beach all year round.

There is plenty for children to do, after the excitement of the arcades, head over to the Sea Life Aquarium, or sample some pre-historic history at the Rotunda Museum or visits the traditional North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway and see where Harry Potter was filmed.

We offer year-round stays with a minimum booking of two nights for two or four people. Stay in our luxurious one-bed apartments - Helmsman, Boatswain, Gunner and Navigator – all individually designed with four-poster canopy beds and dine at the marble table set in the bay window to enjoy the dramatic sea views.
Or take a seat in the Captains Quarters, our stunning Penthouse apartment with outside balconies for alfresco dining and the most stunning views over North Bay. This sleeps four in two sumptuous double beds with ensuites.
Our maisonettes on the ground floor - Quartermaster and Powder Monkey - are grand, roomy and luxurious, with impressive theatrical master bedrooms that lead on to a private outside terraces area.

Getting there
If you’re driving to us, use the postcode YO12 7HT for The Boat House apartments, this will take you to North Marine Road. If you go to the other side of The Boat House on Queen’s Parade, here you will find the main entrance and parking. For the Shipmate’s Cottage, use the postcode YO11 1PL which will take you directly to Quay Street. Parking is on street there and tickets are provided for your stay.
If you’re travelling by train, it’s a 20 minute (0.8 miles) walk from the station to The Boat House. The easiest route is right out the station down Westborough. Take a left at St Thomas Street, then on to North Marine Road.
For the Shipmate’s Cottage, take the same route but continue, instead of turning off on St Thomas Street. Keep on Westborough, then Newborough and Eastborough. Follow Eastborough to the right then left on to Sandside. Take the left after Bamford chip shop and join Quay Street on your right.
